NOTE: This behavior applies only to Received invoices (from suppliers); for issued invoices, the details can be viewed.
When an electronic invoice (CFDI) is canceled, the information that the SAT keeps in its mass download system is limited to basic data: folio number (UUID), RFC of the issuer and the recipient, status (whether it is active or canceled), the stamping and cancellation dates, and the total of the invoice.
bFiskur obtains the information from the CFDIs through the SAT download portal, so it is common for those canceled that were downloaded through this portal to lack details.
Why do I lose the details of a canceled invoice?
- Mass downloads: If you downloaded a group of invoices (using a historical download) and one of them was canceled, for that invoice you will only have the basic data mentioned earlier. You will not be able to see the complete XML or the details such as the products or services it included (this only applies to received invoices).
- bFiskur: If you downloaded an invoice in bFiskur when it was still active and then it was canceled, the details will be preserved in bFiskur because they had already been saved.
How can I see the details of a canceled invoice?
- SAT Portal: If the invoice was issued by you, you can search for the specific invoice on the SAT portal. There you can see the complete XML and all the details, even if it is canceled. If the CFDI is a received CFDI, it is not possible to obtain information.
bFiskur (with limitations): You can try to make a new historical download in bFiskur using a technique called "web scraping". However, this method has issues and only works if:
- The invoice you are looking for was issued by you.
- The time period you want to download has less than 2000 invoices in total.
- The SAT allows you to make more downloads that day.
Important: The SAT limits the number of invoices you can download to 2000 per day. If you reach this limit, you will not be able to make more downloads that same day.
